Aye. One return for £20 probably instead of umlimited travel for a tenner!

Me, too. I'd have to guess from the wording of some of the questions that they are at the very least considering higher prices.

In fact the thing that always "kills" any form of public transport as an alternative to using a car for an ad hoc leisure trip, isn't the fare per se. It's the fare multiplied by the number of people. In my case, we are (usually) two. Therefore my £10 day out already costs £20. Make it £20 each and....well you get the picture. Whereas, if I drive, people 2, 3, 4 and 5 go "free" (more or less).

So I suggest have this promotion as a group fare. Let's say £30 - but up to four people can travel together; or some such deal.

Let us remember that the Red Dot Days, or the "Green Dot" Day(s?) that LMR did are not designed to be a regular promotion, but a loss leading promotion to attract people to sample rail for the first time, the theory being that if they like it they will return.

I don't understand why they didn't do a First class version for say £20/£25. That way they would have not only got people to move to FC but also made standard a bit quieter to enable more people to get a seat and therefore improve the travel experience for the vast majority. Seeing as First seems very quiet at weekends anyway would seem logical.
Even LM did a 1st class version of their tickets I believe.

A good idea if there are a group of you travelling but what about those of us who would be travelling on our own? The fare of £10 was fantastic value but I think for that sort of promotional day I certainly wouldn't want to pay much more than £10 as I had already had to pay the single fare from Mansfield to Sheffield or East Midlands Parkway to obtain the Red Dot Day Ticket! EMT were already getting that extra money from myself and many others without putting the price up.
